How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign employs a series of custom-made, clear aligners that incrementally straighten your teeth according to a treatment plan designed by Dr. Grabiak DMD, FAGD. During your initial consultation Dr. Grabiak DMD, FAGD will analyze your teeth and then take impressions and photographs that are sent to the Invisalign factory. The impressions and photos are then used to create a three-dimensional projection of how the teeth are to be aligned. Once this is reviewed and approved by Dr. Grabiak DMD, FAGD the plastic aligners are manufactured and then shipped to our office to be dispensed to you, the patient.
Once you are given the aligners you will be instructed how frequently you have to wear them and the care that is involved. You won’t be given all the aligners at once so that Dr. Grabiak DMD, FAGD can monitor your progress and ensure successful alignment. Each aligner must be worn for a couple of weeks as they will gradually move your teeth into the proper position for the length of your treatment. Treatment times will vary and depend greatly on the condition of your teeth.
