Dr. Guy Grabiak DMD, FAGD
Why did one dentist choose functional dentistry? Perhaps, functional dentistry chose the dentist. While many of my pre-dental classmates majored in chemistry, math, and physics, I studied kinesiology, the study of muscle movement. Throughout my career, I have been blessed to study with some of the leaders and greatest minds in organized dentistry, but I intuitively realized there was a better way to achieve health. The last mercury amalgam filling I placed was while still in the United States Air Force over 20 years ago. I realized that there were alternatives to fluoride.
Over time I noticed the gradual decline of our culture's health, despite advances in modern medicine. This is due in part to western medicines' lack of understanding of the complexities of how the mind, body, and spirit integrate. We were too quick to prescribe antibiotics and narcotic pain medications rather than treating the root cause of the disease. My extensive studies of oral and systemic health led me to the belief that under optimal conditions, our bodies are designed to heal themselves.
I am committed to always seek the safest, minimally invasive, least toxic way to accomplish the goals of modern dentistry. I believe the theory of biological dentistry can inform and intersect with all topics of conversation in health care, as the well-being of the mouth is an integral part of the health of the whole person.

Angelina Geon, RDH, BSDH, HIAOMT
I am a native of Colorado and have nearly 20 years of experience in the dental field.
I attended the University of Bridgeport, Fones School of Dental Hygiene graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Then continued on to earn accreditation in Biological Dental Hygiene through the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology.
Like most who seek alternative therapies, I pursued biological dental hygiene to be more congruent with my values, beliefs, and philosophical orientations toward health and life. I was dissatisfied with helping my patients only manage their gum disease, in the traditional dental setting. I wanted to address the root cause, and actually support my patients' quest to improve their oral and systemic health. Biological dental hygiene helped me to do just that!
I take pride in educating practice clientele while respecting each individual's goals, values, and preferences. The drive to create and maintain beautiful, healthy smiles leads me to review new scientific research, explore the latest clinical techniques, and analyze oral health care products. Armed with this knowledge, I empower my patients to make the right choice for their oral health in consideration of their systemic health.
When not on the job, you can find me biking or hiking the Rocky Mountains with my family, satisfying my sweet tooth by experimenting with new recipes, or on the baseball field watching my son hit, run, and score. My goals for the future are to maintain a good work life balance, while capturing all that a career in biological dental hygiene has to offer.
