General Dentistry

What is General Dentistry?

General dentistry is exactly as it sounds. General. Here at Denver Dentistry, there is nothing “general” about the care you and your loved ones will receive. We are a low volume dental practice that focuses on using science and data derived from testing to create a custom plan of treatment for either getting your oral health back on track, or helping you maintain a healthy beautiful smile! We pride ourselves on patient education, and getting to the root cause of an underlying condition using advanced diagnostic tools.

Why is General Dentistry necessary?

General Dentistry is necessary because not all have access to Holistic/ Biological Dentistry. Though we strive to remove ourselves as far away from the model of traditional general dentistry offices, we respect and understand that these offices are needed to serve our vast and diverse community. Our office is for patient’s who value their overall health and well-being, and want to address the oral systemic connection using science to solve their chronic dental/health issues, or to maintain their healthy smile!

If you are ready to come into our office for a dental appointment, call us today and we will be happy to answer any of your questions.

General Dentistry services

Children's Dentistry

It’s important to bring your child to see the dentist once every six months. Their six month checkup appointment allows us to examine their teeth and provide them with a dental cleaning.

Dental Cleanings

Keeping your teeth healthy and clean requires more than diligent brushing and flossing at home. In many cases, plaque will build upon different areas of the teeth.

Dental Emergencies

A dental emergency can occur at virtually any time, regardless of how well you take care of your smile. Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for many of these emergencies to leave a patient in severe pain and discomfort.

Digital X-rays

Dental X-rays are an important diagnostic tool and the only way we have of seeing what’s happening inside your teeth as well as the health of the bone that supports them.

Full & Partial Dentures

Both dentures and partials help to transform your entire smile, both aesthetically and functionally. If you’re missing your natural teeth, there is no reason for you to feel ashamed or embarrassed.

Implant Retained Dentures

Implant Retained Dentures refers to placing four strategically planned implants to keep a denture in place. This prevents the need for more than just four implants.

Intra-oral Photography

Intra-oral cameras are helpful in allowing us to see everything going on inside your mouth. Rather than a typical examination, this camera magnifies everything.

Mercury Free Fillings

A dental filling is a restoration that is specifically used to fill in an area of one or more teeth that have become decayed. We pride ourselves on using the most biocompatible materials for our BPA-free resin based composites!

Minimal Sedation Dentistry

Sedation has long been used in the dental field to help keep patients calm and comfortable. We understand that visiting the dentist isn’t always a fun experience and that some people have anxiety related to their treatment.

Occlusal & Sports Guards

Mouthguards can help patients that suffer from bruxism or teeth grinding, or for those who play sports. Occlusal mouthguards help to protect your teeth while you sleep to prevent you from grinding or clenching down.

Periodontal Therapies

In alignment with the IAOMT, we believe, Periodontal disease is an infection – “an invasion by pathogenic microorganisms of a bodily part in which the conditions are favorable for growth of the bacteria, production of toxins, and resulting injury to tissue.” We offer a variety of non-invasive alternative periodontal therapies that can be tailored to your specific needs.

Laser Assisted Periodontal Therapy

If you have red, puffy, tender gums that bleed when you brush or floss, it is very likely that you have periodontal disease – an infection that slowly destroys the tissues that support your teeth and help keep them stable.

CBCT / 3D Cone Beam Imaging

Also known as 3D cone beam imaging, CBCT scans use advanced technology to create a three-dimensional, highly detailed representation of all oral and oral-adjacent structures.

She pursued higher education at Georgia Perimeter College, where she completed programs in dental lab technology, chairside assisting, and business management. Beyond her professional endeavors, Noelle is an avid adventurer who loves exploring the natural beauty of Colorado. She is on a quest to hike all the "14ers" in the state. Noelle's dedication to dental excellence and her commitment to a holistic approach in her field make her a pivotal member of the Denver Dentistry team.

The foundation of providing safe and personalized holistic care begins by getting to know you and your goals for your oral health and overall health, both short term and long term. Dr. Grabiak will then learn about your family’s dental and medical history, along with your dental and medical history. Afterwards, we begin your exam by taking a sample of your saliva (Sillha), checking for seven different biomarkers. That same day, we will send you home with a report showing how you scored in those different biomarker categories.

The head and neck examination is often overlooked by busy clinicians but it is as crucial as an element of the oral cancer examination. Dr. Grabiak begins his exam outside of the mouth by starting with a soft tissue check of the neck and the jaw. A thorough head and neck examination is essential for detecting early skin cancers, any overdeveloped jaw muscles that may be contributing towards bruxism, and enlarged lymph nodes that may indicate an active virus or infection.

After the extraoral exam, Dr. Grabiak begins his extensive intraoral exam. During Dr. Grabiak’s exam he is evaluating the teeth, uvula, mucosal tissues, tongue, floor of the mouth, hard and soft palate, and the oropharynx. Part of this exam includes taking high-definition photos of the mouth, all at different angles so you can see exactly what he is seeing. Our hygienist will then come in and complete a comprehensive periodontal assessment. In some cases, Dr. Grabiak and your hygienist may recommend additional testing to get to the root cause of the evidence of symptoms they are seeing in your mouth. This entire process takes roughly an hour. In some cases, depending on what Dr. Grabiak and your hygienist had found during their exam we will invite you back for a follow-up appointment called review of findings.

In preparation for the review of findings, Dr. Grabiak and your hygienist will take the time to evaluate all of the data that was collected from your examination and testing to determine your specific needs. At your review of findings appointment Dr. Grabiak will sit down with you one on one to review the data that was collected from your appointment, along with any recommendations. This allows you the time to ask Dr. Grabiak any questions that you may have about your treatment recommendations and expectations from treatment.
