Patients with latex allergies are hypersensitive to certain proteins found in products made of natural rubber. When allergic patients come into contact with these proteins, they may experience everything from itchy skin and runny noses to asthma and cardiovascular issues.
Our office has been completely latex free since 2004. This means that all of our materials, like examination gloves and rubber dams, and all of our equipment are non-latex based. Although we realize that not everyone experiences latex allergies, we have taken this extra precaution in order to provide a safer and healthier environment for all of our patients.
