HOLISTIC Dentistry
Holistic dentistry has become such a profound method of caring for your teeth, gums and entire mouth. The holistic approach believes that the wellness and health of your entire body will reflect during your dental appointments. Healthier teeth and gums start with a healthier and more balanced mind, body and spirit. Through holistic dentistry, we here at Denver Dentistry believe that you can appreciate a healthier and more wholesome smile.
What is HOLISTIC Dentistry?
The belief behind holistic dentistry is that your every part of your body is directly connected to your health. We don't like to just fix, check and clean your teeth. We want to provide a fully realized connection between the health of your mouth and the health of the rest of your body. Through the holistic approach, we can improve the health of your teeth and gums while simultaneously helping you to make healthier choices about your body's well-being. Holistic dentistry is sometimes referred to as biological dentistry, since it incorporates your entire body's wellness with the health of your teeth and gums.
What Does Holistic Dentistry Involve?
The holistic approach to dentistry involves a connection between your body's well-being with the health and condition of your smile. Some of the different elements focused on concerning holistic dentistry include:
- Proper nutrition for healthier teeth and gums
- Elimination and avoidance of harmful dental materials
- Removal and replacement of amalgam (metal) fillings
- Treatment of malocclusion problems (problems with bite can equate to problems with imbalance)
- Treatment and total prevention of gum disease at its core basis
- Nonsurgical gum disease treatment
- Instruction on proper care of teeth and gums using natural, wholesome products
- Elimination of fluoride overuse
- Emphasis on preventative care
While holistic dentistry is still a relatively new concept for a lot of people, it has its roots planted firmly in the human body's biological core. The rule of holistic dentistry is that it should promote wellness and health rather than simply focusing on the treatment of disease and infection. After all, your smile can only shine when you are healthy and vibrant yourself.
Benefits of Holistic Dentistry
Holistic dentistry is more involved in preventative care rather than simply treating diseases. The goal of this approach is to promote healthier teeth and gums while using more natural and less invasive techniques to heal problems that may arise over time. This type of dentistry can be beneficial to all different patients of varying ages, since its focus is on a whole-body connection rather than simply fixing problems that might come up.
At Denver Dentistry, we offer a holistic approach to your dental care and oral health needs. We want you to be provided with a more compassionate method of care full of staff who believe that your dental health is directly related to your overall sense of well-being. Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) Protocol
If you wish to remove mercury amalgam fillings or metal based crowns it is recommended to use an IAOMT dentist certified in the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) Protocol. Dr. Grabiak is SMART Certified by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Less than 1% of Doctors in the state of Colorado have this certification!
Direct Diagnostics (HR5)
With a simple salivary test, five specific bacteria (Aa, Pg, Td, Tf, and Fn) can be identified and isolated. These bacteria are most frequently mentioned as contributors to all chronic inflammatory diseases including cardiovascular disease, ischemic stroke, brain abscesses, & heart infections.
Modified Lymphocyte Transformation Test (MELISA)
MELISA is a scientifically proven and clinically validated blood test that detects type-IV allergy to multiple metals, such as mercury, gold, palladium and titanium. It is used worldwide by healthcare professionals to help determine whether patients are hypersensitive to metals commonly used in dental restorations or medical implants.
Ozone Therapies
Ozone is used successfully to treat a variety of dental issues, including gingivitis, periodontal disease, dental caries, tooth sensitivity, dental infections, sinusitis, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ), and osteonecrotic lesions.
Perio Protect
For most periodontitis sufferers, daily flossing and brushing are a must. But for individuals who suffer from chronic gingivitis or periodontitis, daily brushing, rinsing, and flossing aren’t enough to keep their teeth healthy. Perio Protect was developed as a non-invasive device to deliver a natural antimicrobial solution, hydrogen peroxide, directly below the gum line where traditional oral hygiene methods fail to reach.
Salivary Testing (SillHa)
With SillHa Saliva testing you gain more insight into your oral health and systemic health. For ages, conventional wisdom held that dental health was rooted in whether or not you flossed. The SillHa Testing system uses a saliva sample to analyze levels of seven different proteins found in saliva. High levels of these proteins are associated with inflammation of some kind in your body—most likely, in your mouth.
Clifford Materials Reactivity Testing (CMRT)
If you’re concerned that you might be allergic to dental materials like those found in common silver fillings, metal crowns, or other dental materials then speak with Dr. Grabiak about getting tested.
Heavy Metal Testing and Detox
Mercury Tri-Test utilizes patented advanced technology that separates methyl mercury from inorganic mercury and measures each independently. MerProtect helps fuse potentially harmful compounds that may be released during and after the removal of mercury fillings, helping to prevent reabsorption.
Biocompatible Dentistry
Dental/oral conditions have a big impact on your overall health and well-being. With every procedure, we consider its potential effect on the rest of your body. It’s why we offer biocompatibility testing of dental materials and will not use known neurotoxins such as mercury amalgam to repair decayed or damaged teeth. It’s why we use tools such as pathogen testing, to provide more specific, targeted treatment of gum disease – a condition linked to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. We don’t just look at teeth. We look at the big picture.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer can affect adults of any and all ages. Some patients are more at risk of developing oral cancer, like those who smoke or use chewing tobacco.
Lymphocyte Response Assay (ELISA)
Mercury fillings and other dental restorative materials are not the only source of potentially hazardous compounds. Lymphocyte Response Assay (LRA by ELISA/ACT™) tests quickly and precisely determines the hidden causes of many chronic conditions and help patients find sustained relief.
TMJ Therapy
The TMJ (temporomandibular joint) is the joint that connects your lower jaw to your skull. As with many other joints on the body, the TMJ can experience pain...
CBD Pre-Med
At Denver Dentistry we utilize specific formulations of CBD designed to reduce the pain and stress associated with cleaning and other dental procedures.
Zirconia Dental Implants
Zirconia is a hypoallergenic material. What this means is that when placed, you’re less likely to experience allergies or sensitivities to the material, making for a more pleasant experience that lowers your risk of implant failure.
